Our Story
Jade-Sky is a 100% black women-owned and managed enterprise with Level-1 BEE Status. Founded in 2012 as Jade-Sky Project Management, we began as a strategic communications and project management advisory firm. Today, we’ve expanded into Jade-Sky, a group of companies driving renewable energy and infrastructure investments as an active equity partner.
As an African company, we understand the continent’s geo-political and socio-economic landscape. Our team excels in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and public-private partnerships, serving multinational IPPs, developers, and OEMs.

Meet The Founders
Kirsten Francis
Kirsten Francis is the Director and Co-Founder of the Jade-Sky Group and a Director of Flex Wind SA. She serves as Director and Board Member of three wind farms and two solar farms, where Jade-Sky Energy holds equity.
Kirsten holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Practice from UCT GSB and a Bachelor’s in Social Science (Women, Gender Studies, and Politics).
Combining academic rigor with practical leadership she is also a Design Thinking Coach at the Hasso Plattner School, driving innovative solutions. Her focus on strong implementation enables the Group’s strong Corporate governance principals and innovation strategy.
Recognized as one of the “100 Women of Fortitude” for her impact in clean energy and policy, Kirsten has served on the Ministerial Advisory Council on Energy (MACE), shaping South Africa’s energy future.
Leole-Ann Francis
Leole-Ann Francis is Director and Co-Founder of the Jade-Sky Group and Trustee of the Red Rocket Opportunity Trust (2025).
She holds a BA in Communication Science (1999) and Psychology (2020) from UNISA, along with a Post Graduate Qualification in Project Management from CPUT.
Leading Business Development at Jade-Sky Energy, Leole-Ann focuses on Advanced Project Management, Sustainability, Media Relations, Marketing. Her strategic expertise drives the Group’s growth and industry impact.
An active participant in global energy forums, she advises multinational entities, leveraging her insights into energy’s role in economic development. Leole-Ann is a key contributor to innovation and transformation in renewable energy.
Our Projects
Wind
Brand valley Wind Farm Contracted Capacity – 140MW (Under-Construction)
Brandvalley Wind Farm is one half of the sibling projects located along the boundaries between the Western Cape and Northern Cape provinces.
With 32 Vestas V150-4.5MW wind turbines with a nameplate capacity of 144MW, it is expected to generate around 590GWh of energy per year. This will satisfy the needs of roughly 181 000 households every year, while avoiding the emission of approximately 620 000 tons of CO2 equivalent annually (gross).
Rietkloof Wind Farm Contracted Capacity -140MW (Under Construction)
Rietkloof Wind Farm, sister project to Brandvalley Wind Farm, will likewise feature 32 Vestas V150-4.5MW wind turbines. It is expected to generate around 590GWh of energy per year with a nameplate of 144MW.
Located within close proximity to each other, both the projects are scheduled to reach commercial operations in Q4 2024.
Wolf Wind Farm Contracted Capacity – 85MW (Under-Construction)
Located in the Eastern Cape is our Wolf Wind Farm project with a nameplate of 85MW. With the industry-leading new Vestas V163 turbines, Wolf Wind Farm will generate almost 360GWh per annum, meeting the energy needs of 110 000 households.
It is expected to reach commercial operations in Q4 2024 and will avoid the emission of approximately 378 000 tons of CO2 equivalent annually (gross).
Solar
Goodhope Solar Park Contracted Capacity – 200MW (Awarded preferred Bidder)
Goodhope Solar Park is our 200MWp project locate in the Free State, approximately 81km from Bloemfontein. This project has not yet reached Financial Close.
Virginia Solar Park Contracted Capacity – 240MW (Under-Construction)
Virginia Solar Park is our 275MWp project located in the Free State, approximately 140km from Bloemfontein.
Being the largest grid-connected solar farm in Africa to date, the energy generated from Virginia Solar Park is expected to satisfy the
needs of 210 000 households annually, while avoiding 720 900 tons of CO2 emissions.

Jade-Sky Wind
Jade-Sky Wind concluded an empowerment transaction with Flex Wind SA, a subsidiary of Flex Wind A/S in 2024. The global wind turbine installer and service provider ,Flex Wind South Africa is a Level 3 BEE Contributor.
Jade-Sky Wind’s shareholding firms up Flex Wind’s position to better service the domestic wind energy market creating a platform for locally trained and globally active teams of Wind Turbine technicians. The South African team comprises of 50 technicians active on local and international wind projects, delivering world-class talent and experience to leading OEMs.
In 2024, Flex Wind was named Best Partner for Construction in Northern and Central Europe provider by leading OEM, Vestas.
Jade-Sky Operations & Maintenance
Jade-Sky Operations and Maintenance was established in 2022, as a subsidiary of Jade-Sky Energy.
As a minority shareholder of Red Rocket O&M Services, the company is a mechanism to monitor and optimise our renewable energy investments and deepen our experience, in post-construction.
Jade-Sky O&M is responsible for managing, monitoring, and ensuring that projects are continuously and optimally maintained, meeting international standards.
